Miss Represented participant

We are extremely proud of Miss Represented an arts collective of vulnerable women who come together and build confidence through creating theatre that is then performed in our venues to the public.

Starting in 2017 Brighton Festival launched ‘Your Place’ a programme of free events in Hangleton and East Brighton delivered to families who may otherwise have barriers of attending events in Central Brighton. The initiative was a huge success and will be repeated for Brighton Festival 2018.

Further initiatives are Umbrella Club for children with life-limiting conditions, and Three Score Dance Company which was created to offer contemporary dance opportunities for people aged over 60.

Once funding for the project has been achieved we can use our new contacts and skills to develop further outreach programmes and bring our projects to areas of the community that might otherwise be overlooked.

How we are improving...

  • Developing our spaces for better accessibility for everyone at the Corn exchange, Studio Theatre and Ticket Office
  • New artist facilities with self-contained rehearsal room
  • Break-out space
  • Improved dressing rooms, rehearsal spaces and offices

Help us to keep making history for the next 200 years
